The Norton Rixson 8101 Series Aluminum Door Closer with Cover Options is a versatile surface closer that comes in different sizes to fit a range of doors. With a durable cast aluminum body and adjustable spring sizes, this door closer can handle moderate to high-traffic areas without wearing out quickly. It also boasts a sleek design that complements any architectural style. This Norton Rixson door closer is built to last, exceeding 25 million cycles of use, and features staked valves and a non-handed design for ease of installation. It has separate valves for controlling latch, sweep, and backcheck intensity, as well as options for hold open, heavy-duty, and low profile arms. This aluminum door closer can be mounted on either the push or pull side of the door, and comes with various fasteners for secure installation. With its reliable performance and modern design, the 8101 Series is an excellent choice for both interior and exterior doors.
For efficiency reasons this application provides the best alternative to the regular arm application. There must be sufficient frame face and/or ceiling clearance for this application. It requires a top rail on the door of just 2-1/4" (57mm). This application provides the best door control for doors in exterior walls that swing out of a building. The entire door closer and arm assembly project from the frame, similar to the regular arm application, where matters of appearance and malicious abuse can be of concern. Consideration must be given to depth of frame reveal.
