The Detex V40EX-W-RWE-48 is a 48-inch weatherized rim exit device from the Value Series, featuring a built-in EX-W Request to Exit (REX) switch. Engineered for harsh outdoor environments such as perimeter gates, exterior doors, and wet environments, this device allows monitoring and signaling when the pushpad is depressed. The EX-W switch operates a SPDT (Form C) contact that can initiate alarms, activate strobes, or trigger access control systems.

This panic hardware provides 24-hour loss prevention and life safety, combining mechanical durability with electronic monitoring in a cost-effective package. Its weather-resistant construction, reinforced pushpad, and stainless steel deadlocking latch bolt ensure years of reliable performance in challenging environments.

The device features a red pushpad with white lettering (RWE) for enhanced visibility and compliance, and includes a weather-sealed SPDT switch pre-wired for easy integration. With Detex's patented mounting plate and strike locator, the V40EX-W installs quickly and precisely—eliminating the need for paper templates.
