1) Will Ives SR66 door silencers work on a wood door frame, or are they only for hollow metal?
The SR66 is a self-adhesive silencer, so it sticks to a cleaned frame surface rather than seating in a drilled hole. That's what makes it the answer for hollow metal frames where you don't want to drill. On a wood frame you can still stick them on, but wood frames are normally prepped for a push-in stem silencer that drops into a drilled hole and stays put permanently. If the frame already has the drilled holes, use a stem-type silencer; if it doesn't, or you can't drill it, the adhesive SR66 is what you want.
2) How thick are Ives SR66 silencers, and will they hold the door off the stop enough to keep the latch from engaging?

5) Will adhesive door silencers stay stuck on a high-traffic door, or do they fall off?
Adhesion depends almost entirely on surface prep. The SR66 needs the frame stop cleaned down to bare, dry, oil-free material before the silencer goes on. Skip that on a frame with old paint chalk, dust, or lubricant overspray and it will release. On a properly cleaned stop the rubber body holds; the failure mode people report is prep, not the part. If the opening is a very high-cycle door and you can drill, a stem-type silencer in a drilled frame hole is the more permanent installation.
