NUVO Lighting 62-1842 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Can the NUVO 62-1842 Button flush mount be used in a bathroom or over a shower?
The Button 11 inch flush mount carries a Damp location rating and is listed for indoor use, so it's fine for a bathroom ceiling, a covered porch ceiling, or a laundry room. Damp does not cover direct water contact, so it should not go inside a shower enclosure or anywhere it gets sprayed. It is cETLus safety listed.
    2) How does CCT selectable work on the NUVO 62-1842, and what do I get for output at each setting?
The Button flush mount is CCT selectable, so the color temperature is set on the fixture itself rather than by ordering a specific Kelvin version. Output shifts slightly with the setting: 1500, 1700 and 1600 lumens across the three selections, all from an 18 watt integrated LED at 90 CRI. For a property manager standardizing corridors or units, that means one part number covers whatever color the rest of the building is running.
    3) Will the NUVO 62-1842 fit tight to the ceiling in a low-ceiling hallway?
Yes. It's a true close-to-ceiling flush mount, 11 inches in diameter and only 3.88 inches tall, mounted directly to the ceiling. At 2.51 lbs it's light enough for a standard 4 inch octagon box with a crossbar.
    4) Can I put the NUVO Button LED flush mount on a dimmer?
It's dimmable and runs on 120V line voltage, so it works on a standard residential circuit. The LED is integrated, so use a dimmer rated for LED loads rather than an old incandescent-only rotary; a leading-edge dimmer sized for resistive loads is the usual cause of flicker on an 18W fixture.
    5) Does the NUVO 62-1842 take a bulb, or is the LED built in?
The light source is built in. The Button flush mount uses an integrated LED rated at 50,000 average hours, so there is no lamp to stock or change. For an MRO buyer that removes relamping from the maintenance cycle, but it also means the whole fixture is the replacement item at end of life.
    6) Is 1500 to 1700 lumens enough light from one NUVO Button fixture in a bedroom or hallway?
At 1500 to 1700 lumens with 90 CRI, one 11 inch Button covers a small bedroom, entry, hall or walk-in closet as the single ceiling source. For a larger living space or a long corridor, plan on multiple fixtures on spacing rather than relying on one.
    7) Does the NUVO 62-1842 come with a Prop 65 warning?
Yes. The fixture is identified under California Proposition 65 for lead. It is also RoHS compliant. If you're buying for a California jobsite or a public agency, the Prop 65 notice needs to travel with the order.
