Trimco publishes separate straight and offset drilling templates for each (AP400E and AP400G), so pull the template that matches the mount you order before anyone drills the door.
2) I am replacing a Trimco 1160 or 1170 series pull. Is the AP425 the current equivalent?
The AP400 Series ladder pulls are the current designation for what Trimco formerly sold as the 1160/1170 Series, and the AP425 is the 1-1/4" diameter straight standoff with angled ends within it. Match your old pull by diameter, length, end style and mount type when you order.
3) I need an offset pull instead of a straight one - what should I use?
The Trimco AP425 uses straight standoffs, so the bar sits parallel to the door face. If the opening needs the grip pushed away from the door face, offset options include the ABH AB3310 offset flat end pull, the ABH AB3330 offset round end pull with custom length options, the Ives 8169 C style offset solid pull at 1 inch diameter, and the Ives 8145 45 degree offset pull, which is ADA compliant. Within Trimco's own AP400 range, the AP426 is the 1-1/4 inch offset-standoff angled-end version.
4) What are the alternatives to a Trimco AP425 ladder pull for a commercial door?
If you do not need the full ladder-pull look, ABH's AB3300 straight flat end pull is a 1" diameter commercial pull, and the AB7200 is solid stainless at 7/8" diameter with through-bolt mounting. Ives offers the 8103HD heavy duty straight pull in 1" round with through-bolt mounting and the 8145EZHD 45 degree offset pull, which is ADA compliant. Those are shorter grab-style pulls; the AP425 is the choice when you want a long bar running 12" to 96".
5) Can the Trimco AP425 go on a glass door?
The AP400 Series ladder pulls offer mounting options for metal, wood and glass doors, and the AP425 is part of that series. On glass you are working to the through-bolt prep in the tempered lite, so confirm the hole spacing in the glass matches the AP400 template for the mount type and length you order.
6) Do I get mounting screws with the Trimco AP425, or do I buy them separately?
Fasteners ship with the pull: wood and machine screws, so it can go on a wood door or a metal door depending on which you use. You still need to drill to the correct Trimco AP400 template for the mount type you ordered.

11) Is there a simpler single pull I can use instead of a long ladder pull on a 12 inch opening?
The Trimco AP425 is sold as short as 12 inches, but if a compact single pull suits the door better, the Deltana SSP1210 is a 12 inch contemporary pull furnished single side, and the Sure-Loc PL-1RD round long door pull is a single-sided pull offered with concealed or thru-bolt mounting.
