Metallics SCH1001SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Metallics SCH1001SS hanger work on both EMT and rigid conduit?
Yes. The SCH1001SS is a 1 inch conduit hanger sized for either EMT or rigid conduit, so a run that transitions between the two can be supported with the same hanger throughout. Order it by trade size, not by wall thickness: it is the 1 inch size.
2) What size conduit does the Metallics SCH1001SS hanger take?
It is the 1 inch trade size. For a mixed run, pick a hanger matched to each trade size rather than forcing a 1 inch hanger onto 3/4 or 1-1/4 conduit, since the strap diameter is what holds the pipe in place.
3) Is SCH1001SS the part number I give my electrical supplier?
Yes, SCH1001SS is the Metallics manufacturer part number for the 1 inch EMT/rigid conduit hanger. That number alone identifies the item on a purchase order.
