Metallics CT4Y – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size and color is the Metallics CT4Y cable tie?
The CT4Y is an 11 inch nylon cable tie in yellow. Color coding like this is how electricians keep circuits, phases, or low-voltage runs sorted inside a panel or a pull box without labeling every bundle.
2) What material are the CT4Y cable ties, and can I use them outdoors or in a wet location?
Nylon is the material. Standard nylon ties are intended for indoor and protected use; for sustained sunlight exposure or outdoor runs, the normal practice is a UV-stabilized black weather-resistant tie rather than a colored nylon one, since pigment alone is not a UV rating. The CT4Y carries no outdoor or UV rating, so treat it as an interior bundling tie.
3) Are Metallics CT4Y cable ties made in the USA?
Yes, the CT4Y is a USA made nylon tie. That matters on federal, military, and other public jobs where domestic-sourcing language sits in the specification, so it is worth keeping on the shelf if you bid that work.
4) What is the part number to order the yellow 11 inch Metallics tie?
Order it as Metallics CT4Y. That is the manufacturer part number for the 11 inch yellow nylon tie, and it is the single model on the item, so there is no length or color option to pick at checkout.
