Metallics KKC12 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Metallics KKC12 clamp metal or plastic?
It is a PVC clamp, not a metal strap. That makes it a non-conductive, non-corroding option for securing 1/2 inch cable or conduit, and it will not scratch or gall a jacketed cable the way a steel strap can.
2) What is a C-style cable clamp used for versus a two-hole strap?
A C-style clamp is a single-piece snap-around body: the cable or conduit presses into the C opening and the clamp holds it against the mounting surface with one fastener, so you can run it up a stud or joist quickly. A two-hole strap needs two fasteners and the run has to be laid in before both are driven. Use the C-style KKC12 for 1/2 inch cable where speed and a single fixing point are what you want.
3) Do I get fasteners with the Metallics KKC12 clamp?
The KKC12 is the PVC clamp body alone. Supply your own screws or nails sized to whatever you are fastening into, whether that is wood framing, masonry, or steel.
4) How many sizes does the Metallics KKC12 come in?
One. KKC12 is a single-model part covering the 1/2 inch C-style PVC clamp, so there is no finish or size choice to specify when ordering.
