Metallics FTHS175 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Metallics FTHS175 cable tie used for?
The FTHS175 is a heavy duty screw-mount flat cable tie, part number FTHS175. The flat mounting tab takes a screw so the bundle anchors directly to a panel, stud, or box instead of floating loose, which is what electricians use when a run has to be fixed in place rather than just gathered.
2) Does the Metallics FTHS175 screw-mount tie come with a mounting screw?
No screw is supplied with the FTHS175. It is the tie with an integral screw-mount tab only, so you provide the fastener that suits the substrate you are anchoring to.
3) Is the FTHS175 a standard cable tie or does it mount to a surface?
It mounts. A standard tie just wraps a bundle; the FTHS175 has a flat screw-mount tab built into the tie, so one piece does both the bundling and the anchoring. If you only need to gather conductors inside a panel with no fixed anchor point, a plain cable tie is the cheaper choice.
4) What part number do I order for the Metallics heavy duty screw-mount flat cable tie?
Order Metallics FTHS175. That is the manufacturer part number, and it is the single model offered for this heavy duty screw-mount flat tie, so there is no size or color suffix to specify.
