Viega 15313 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size is the Viega 15313 plastic staple, and will it hold 1/2 inch tubing?
The Viega 15313 is the 1-1/2 inch plastic staple. That 1-1/2 inch figure is the staple size itself, and the body measures 1.5 inches high, 1.461 inches long and 0.24 inches wide, so it is a narrow-profile fastener rather than a wide saddle. Size the run you are fastening against the 1-1/2 inch designation before you order a case.
2) Is the Viega 15313 staple metal or plastic, and will it corrode in a slab pour?
Plastic, not steel. The 15313 staple is made entirely of plastic, so there is no galvanic issue against copper or brass and nothing to rust where it stays damp. That also means it flexes rather than bites the way a steel staple does, so it holds by shape rather than by clamping force.
3) What part number do I give my distributor for the Viega 1-1/2 inch plastic staple?
Order it as Viega 15313. That is the manufacturer part number for the 1-1/2 inch plastic staple, and it is a single-model item, so there are no finish or length options to specify alongside it. The staples are made in Switzerland.
