Metallics MECTW – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How many outlets does the Metallics MECTW cord have?
It is a triple tap, so one plug end feeds three receptacles on the other end. That lets a crew run three tools or chargers off a single outlet from a short 2 foot pigtail instead of daisy chaining longer cords.
2) Is a 2 foot 12/3 triple tap cord the right choice, or should I use a longer extension cord?
A 2 foot 12/3 triple tap like the MECTW is an outlet multiplier, not a reach extension. Use it when the receptacle is already where you need it and you need three connections off it. If you need to get power across a room or down a hall, buy a longer cord of the same 12 AWG size and keep the short triple tap at the far end.
3) What is the Metallics part number for the 12/3 triple tap extension cord?
Order it as Metallics MECTW. That single model covers the 2 foot 12/3 triple tap cord; there are no size or color variations to specify.
