1) What trade sizes does the Steel City EMT compression coupling come in?
Eight trade sizes, from 3/4 inch up to 4 inch: 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 2, 2-1/2, 3 and 4 inch. Part numbers run TK112A (3/4"), TK113A (1"), TK114A (1-1/4"), TK115A (1-1/2"), TK116A (2"), TK117A (2-1/2"), TK118A (3") and TK1110A (4"). Order by the trade size of the EMT you are joining, not by the conduit's outside diameter.
2) Will this coupling work on rigid or IMC conduit, or only EMT?
EMT only. It is built as an electrical metallic tubing fitting and compresses onto the thin wall of EMT, which has no threads. Rigid and IMC are threaded and take threaded couplings instead, so this part is the wrong one for those runs.
3) Is a compression coupling or a set screw coupling the right choice for my EMT run?
Compression is the one to use where the run is exposed to damp or wet locations or where the joint may see some pull, because the compression nut and ring grip the tubing all the way around.
