Metallics MWNB2214 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What wire gauge range does the Metallics MWNB2214 blue wire connector cover?
The MWNB2214 is a blue twist-on wire connector rated for 22 through 14 AWG conductors. That range covers the fine-gauge wiring used in fixture whips, thermostat and control runs, and low-voltage work, up through standard 14 AWG branch-circuit conductors. If your splice includes 12 AWG or larger, this is the wrong connector size for the job.
2) What part number do I order for the Metallics blue 22-14 wire connector?
Order it as Metallics MWNB2214. That is the manufacturer part number for the blue 22-14 AWG twist-on wire connector, and it is the number to quote when standardizing a truck stock or an MRO storeroom bin so re-orders come back as the same size and color.
3) Why is this Metallics wire connector blue, and does the color mean anything?
On twist-on wire connectors the cap color is the manufacturer's size code, not a decoration. Blue on the Metallics MWNB2214 identifies the 22-14 AWG range, so an electrician can confirm the right connector at a glance in a box full of mixed sizes rather than reading each cap. Keep the colors consistent across a job and inspection goes faster.
