Viega 25636 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use a MegaPressG fitting to branch a 1 inch threaded drop off a 2 inch steel line?
That's exactly what the 25636 is for. The press end joins the 2 inch carbon steel run with a press tool instead of cutting threads or welding, and the 1 inch FPT outlet takes a threaded nipple or valve for the drop. No pipe threading on the main.
2) Does the Viega 25636 have Smart Connect feature?
Yes, the 25636 MegaPressG adapter is built with Viega's Smart Connect technology, the feature that leaves an unpressed connection visibly leaking during pressure test so an installer can find a missed joint before the system is buttoned up.
3) Where is the Viega 25636 MegaPressG fitting made?
Made in Germany. That matters on spec jobs and government or institutional work where country of origin has to be documented in the submittal.
