Old work is exactly what the B225R-UPC is for. You cut the opening in existing drywall or plaster, drop the box in, and secure it against the back face of the wall material, no stud access and no opening up the wall. If you are framing new construction and have studs exposed, you want a new work box with a nail-on bracket instead, because that mounts to the stud and sets the box depth off the framing before the drywall goes on.
2) How many wires can I legally put in a 25 cubic inch 2-gang electrical box?
