Metallics SCH3501SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size conduit does the Metallics SCH3501SS hanger fit?
The SCH3501SS is a 3-1/2 inch conduit hanger, sized for 3-1/2 inch EMT or rigid/IMC conduit. If you are running a different trade size, you need the matching hanger for that size, not this one; conduit hangers are size-specific and a 3-1/2 inch hanger will not hold smaller pipe securely.
2) Can one conduit hanger be used for both EMT and rigid conduit in the same 3-1/2 inch run?
Yes. The Metallics SCH3501SS is rated for both EMT and rigid/IMC at 3-1/2 inch trade size, so an electrician stocking it can support either pipe type without carrying two part numbers for that size.
3) What part number do I order for a 3-1/2 inch Metallics conduit hanger?
Order Metallics SCH3501SS. It is the single model on the 3-1/2 inch EMT/rigid conduit hanger, so there are no finish or size options to specify when ordering.
