1) How does the Klein K28 screw holding screwdriver actually hold the screw?
The K28 uses a split blade. The two halves of the 3/16-inch tip wedge apart inside the screw slot and grip it, so you can start and drive a slotted screw one-handed in a box, a panel, or any spot you can't get a finger into. There is no magnet involved, so it works on brass, stainless, and aluminum screws the same as it does on steel.
2) Can I use the K28 screw holding screwdriver on live electrical work?
No. The K28 is not insulated and will not protect against electrical shock. For work on energized circuits you need a VDE/1000V insulated driver, not this one. The K28 is for starting and placing screws on de-energized work.

The tip measures 3/16 inch (4.8 mm) across, which is the common slot width on device terminal screws, switch and receptacle mounting screws, and cover plate screws. If your screw slot is wider or narrower than that, the split blade won't wedge properly and you want a different tip size.
6) Will a magnetic screwdriver do the same job as the K28 screw holder?
Not in every case. A magnetic tip only helps with ferrous screws and it lets go the moment the screw catches an edge. The K28 has no magnet at all; it grips mechanically by wedging the split blade into the slot, so it holds non-ferrous screws and keeps hold at an angle or overhead. The trade-off is that it only fits slotted heads at 3/16 inch and can't be used to torque the screw home.
