Allied Tube & Conduit RCK75KON – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the Allied Tube & Conduit RCK75KON coupling need threaded conduit ends?
No. The RCK75KON is a threadless compression coupling for 3/4 inch rigid conduit, so it joins cut conduit without threading the ends. That makes it the fitting to reach for on a repair or a tie-in where you cannot get a threader onto the pipe or cannot rotate the conduit to thread it into a standard coupling.
2) Can I use a compression coupling like the RCK75KON in a concrete pour?
Yes. The RCK75KON carries a neoprene gasket that provides a concrete tight seal, so it can be embedded in a slab or wall pour without wet concrete working into the raceway.
3) Will a threadless coupling work where conduit runs are tight against each other?
That is exactly what the RCK75KON is built for. Allied calls out its use where conduit runs are closely spaced, since a compression coupling is tightened in place and does not require spinning one length of conduit into the other the way a threaded coupling does.
4) What is the exact manufacturer part number for Allied's 3/4 inch threadless rigid compression coupling?
Order it as RCK75KON from Atkore Allied Tube & Conduit. That number covers the 3/4 inch threadless compression coupling with the neoprene concrete tight gasket.
5) Is the RCK75KON coupling protected against corrosion?
The body is zinc plated to resist corrosion, which suits it to damp interior work and concrete contact. For direct burial or corrosive process areas, check the job spec, since plating is a different level of protection than a PVC-coated or stainless fitting.
