Temflex 1776 vinyl electrical tape is UL Listed and CSA Certified, and it meets RoHS 2011/65/EU. That covers the usual inspector question on general-purpose insulating and color-coding work in commercial electrical installations.

It is rated 32 to 176 degrees F (0 to 80 degrees C). That rules it out for taping directly on hot motor leads or in unconditioned spaces that go below freezing during install, since vinyl applied under 32 degrees F will not conform or bond properly. For a hotter or colder job you want a higher-temperature rated vinyl tape instead.

The tape measures 7.0 mil (0.178 mm) total thickness without liner. That is a heavier build than typical 6-mil general-purpose vinyl, so you get more layers of dielectric per wrap on a splice jacket or harness overwrap. It is a general-use grade tape, not a premium all-weather grade, so for direct-buried or outdoor splices pair it with a rubber splicing mastic underneath.

Shelf life on Temflex 1776 is 1825 days, five years from date of manufacture. That makes a 100-roll case reasonable to hold in a warehouse or MRO crib without churning it, though rotate stock oldest-first so the rubber-resin adhesive is still fresh when it goes out on a job.

PVC vinyl backing with a rubber-resin adhesive. That combination is what lets it stretch and conform around a splice and bond layer to layer so the wrap seals to itself rather than unwinding. The vinyl backing also carries the mechanical abrasion protection over the splice.
