Metallics VSC58R – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size rod or rebar does the Metallics VSC58R vinyl cap fit?
The VSC58R is sized for 5/8 inch stock and the cap body is 1 inch long, so it slips over the end of a 5/8 inch rod or bar. For any other diameter you need a different cap size in the series, not this one.
2) What is a vinyl cap like the Metallics VSC58R used for on an electrical job?
It is a protective end cap. Pushed onto the exposed end of a 5/8 inch threaded rod, bar or stub, the vinyl covers the cut end so it does not snag clothing, cut hands, or damage anything brushing past it during the rest of the build. Common on hanger rod drops and anywhere rod is left proud of the nut.
3) Is the Metallics VSC58R a single part number or does it come in several sizes?
VSC58R is one part number, one configuration: a 5/8 inch vinyl cap, 1 inch long. There is no finish or length choice to specify when ordering it.
