The CSW711 is a 7 inch wheel with a 7/8 inch center arbor hole, which is the standard arbor on 7 inch and 9 inch angle grinders. Check that your tool's guard is rated for a 7 inch wheel and that its spindle flanges match a 7/8 inch bore before mounting. It will not fit a 4-1/2 inch or 5 inch grinder with a 5/8-11 threaded spindle unless the tool's backing flange accepts an unthreaded 7/8 inch bore wheel.
2) What does Type 1 mean on a cutoff wheel, and can I use it for grinding?
Type 1 means a flat, straight wheel with no depressed center. It is made for cutting with the edge of the wheel only. Do not use the CSW711 for side grinding or edge work, because a flat 1/16 inch thick wheel has no reinforcement against side loading and can fracture. If you need to grind a weld or bevel an edge, use a Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel instead.
