The 90195 is a 1 inch x 1 inch x 3/4 inch tee with a P1 x P2 x FPT connection pattern. The two 1 inch run ends are press connections for carbon or stainless pipe, and the 3/4 inch branch is female pipe thread, so you can thread a gauge, sensor, drain valve or a short threaded nipple straight into the branch without adapting.
2) Is the Viega MegaPress 90195 tee stainless or carbon steel, and does that matter for the system I'm pressing into?
The fitting body is 316 stainless steel. That is the corrosion-resistant grade, which is why it gets used on compressed air, oil, chilled water and light industrial lines where a carbon fitting would be at risk. No. The 90195 is a reducing tee: 1 inch on the run and 3/4 inch on the female threaded branch. For a full 1 inch branch you need a different MegaPress tee with a 1 inch outlet. Ordering the 90195 and bushing up the branch is not a substitute.
