American Standard 754505-2030A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is American Standard part 754505-2030A?
It's the variable speed air blower motor assembly used on American Standard combination (air/whirlpool) baths. It supplies the air side of the system, and the variable speed control lets the user dial the air flow up or down rather than run at a single fixed output. It's a service/replacement component, not a complete bath.
2) I manage apartments with American Standard combo baths. How do I know this is the right replacement blower?
Match it by the American Standard part number 754505-2030A rather than by appearance. Combo bath blowers differ in speed control, airflow and electrical connection, and a variable speed unit like this one pairs with a variable speed control on the tub. Pull the existing blower's data label through the access panel and confirm the number before ordering.
3) Is this a whirlpool pump or an air blower?
An air blower, not a water pump. On a combination bath the pump circulates water through the jets while the blower pushes air through a separate channel of ports. If your tub has lost its water jet action, the blower motor is not the part to replace.
4) Does the American Standard 754505-2030A air blower come with a control switch or wiring harness?
What's catalogued here is the blower motor assembly itself. Plan on reusing the tub's existing control and air line connections, and have an electrician confirm the circuit and GFCI protection at the tub before the swap. If the old control is failing as well, that's ordered separately.
5) What color is the American Standard 754505-2030A blower, and does it matter if it's hidden under the tub deck?
Charcoal gray is the only finish it ships in. The blower housing sits under the tub skirt or in the access chase, so the color is rarely visible once installed; the finish is worth noting only if your access panel leaves the unit partly in view.
