American Standard 2856016.02 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the American Standard Afwall Millennium wall-hung toilet come with a seat and a carrier?
The Afwall Millennium wall-hung system ships as an elongated flushometer bowl with a manual piston flush valve. The bowl is supplied less seat, so an elongated open-front seat has to be ordered separately. A wall-hung bowl also needs an in-wall carrier to take the load; that is a separate purchase from the toilet system.
2) Is the Afwall Millennium a top spud or back spud bowl?
Top spud. The flush connection enters the top of the bowl, so it pairs with an exposed flushometer like the manual piston valve supplied with it. If your existing rough-in was built for a back spud bowl with a concealed valve, this one will not line up.
3) What is the flush volume on this American Standard commercial wall-hung toilet?
1.6 gpf / 6.0 Lpf, with a maximum 1,000 gram MaP score. That MaP number is the top of the scale for bulk removal, which is why it gets specified in high-traffic restrooms where double flushing is the real cost.
4) Why choose a manual flush valve instead of a sensor unit for a commercial restroom?
The Afwall Millennium system uses a manual piston-operated flush valve with a non-hold-open handle that shuts off automatically, so there is no battery, no solenoid, and no sensor to fail or get re-aimed. A sensor valve is the better pick where touch-free operation is the requirement; manual is the simpler maintenance item for MRO stock.
5) What stops this flush valve from running on?
The piston valve uses American Standard's DynaClean self-cleaning wiper spring. An integral wiper spring scrapes the refill orifice on every flush, which is the orifice that clogs with grit and scale and causes a valve to run on. It is the failure mode most maintenance calls on flushometers come down to.
6) What does the EverClean surface actually do on this toilet?
EverClean is a permanent surface treatment fired into the china that inhibits growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the surface. It is not a cleaning substitute; it slows what builds up between cleanings, which matters in schools, stadiums and other restrooms on a light cleaning rotation.
7) Does this Afwall bowl deal with sweating in humid restrooms?
It has a condensation channel built into the bowl to catch condensate rather than letting it run onto the floor. Useful in unconditioned or high-humidity spaces on cold supply water.
8) What color and part number do I order for the Afwall Millennium toilet system?
It is sold in White only, ordered as American Standard part number 2856016.02.
