American Standard Aspirations 48 x 72-Inch Frameless Sliding Shower Door - AMS-AM00855400

Yes. The frameless panels slide open on both sides, so the same unit works whether your plumbing wall or entry clearance calls for a left-hand or right-hand opening. That means no handing decision at the time of order.

Tempered glass at 5/16 inch (8mm) thick. That is the safety glass thickness you want for a residential or multi-family shower enclosure, and the surface is treated to show fewer water spots, which cuts down turnover cleaning time on rental units.

Three: Silver Shine (AM00855400.213), Matte Black (AM00855400.243), and Brushed Nickel (AM00855400.295). If you are matching existing trim across a building, order by that three-digit suffix so the hardware finish lines up with the shower valve and towel accessories.

The Aspirations door hangs from top rollers that glide along the header rail, with an impact-absorbing soft-close action so the panel does not slam against the jamb. Top-hung rollers keep the weight off the bottom, which is why frameless sliders like this one are quieter than older bottom-roller enclosures.

A sliding frameless door like the Aspirations 48 x 72 suits an alcove where a swinging door has nowhere to open into, which is the usual case in a 5-foot bathroom. It needs a finished 48-inch wide by 72-inch tall opening with solid framing at both jambs to carry the header. If your opening is a neo-angle or corner entry, a slider on a straight header will not work and you need a pivot or corner-entry enclosure.

A towel bar handle is part of the door, so no separate pull to source. It doubles as a towel rail on the outside face, which is useful in tight bathrooms where there is nowhere else to mount one.
