American Standard 735232-400.020 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the American Standard Aspirations 735232-400 tank cover come with a tank, or is it the lid only?
Lid only. The 735232-400 is the replacement tank cover for an Aspirations tank, sold without the tank, trip lever, or flush valve. If a lid cracked or walked off during a turnover, this is the part that puts the toilet back to original without replacing the whole two-piece unit.
2) Will an American Standard Aspirations tank lid fit any other American Standard toilet tank?
No. Vitreous china tank covers are made to one tank's exact rim and mounting footprint, and this one is specified for the Aspirations tank. A lid from a different model will not seat correctly. Match the tank number cast inside your tank before ordering rather than going by the toilet's look.
3) What color and finish does the Aspirations 735232-400 tank cover come in?
White, and that is the only finish offered, ordered as 735232-400.020. If the rest of the fixture is bone, linen, or another color, this lid will not match it.
4) Is the Aspirations tank cover durable enough for a high-traffic commercial restroom?
It is vitreous china, the same fired ceramic body as the tank itself, so it takes cleaning chemicals and daily wiping without degrading the way a painted or plastic lid would. The surface is EverClean treated to inhibit bacterial growth on the china. For multi-family and hospitality maintenance stock, that means it cleans with whatever your crew already uses on the bowl.
5) Does the EverClean coating on this American Standard tank lid disinfect the toilet?
No. EverClean is a surface treatment fired into the china that inhibits the growth of bacteria on the lid itself. It is not a disinfectant and does not replace cleaning, and it does nothing for the bowl water. Treat it as a surface that stays cleaner between cleanings, not as a sanitizing feature for a healthcare spec.
