American Standard 710408-101.2130A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the American Standard Axis expander cap and what does it do on a curved shower door?
It's the finish cap that covers the magnet expander on an American Standard Axis curved shower door, model 710408-101. The expander takes up the gap along the magnetic closing edge; the cap conceals it and gives the edge a finished look. It's a replacement trim piece, not the magnet strip or the door seal itself.
2) Do I need the whole shower door if a magnet cap on my Axis enclosure is broken or missing?
No. The caps are sold on their own as 710408-101, two to a pack, so a cracked or lost cap on an Axis curved door is a parts order, not a door replacement. Property managers keeping a set on the shelf can swap them out without touching the glass or the magnet expander.
3) How many American Standard 710408-101 expander caps come in a pack?
Two per pack. That covers both ends of a single magnet expander, so one pack does one door rather than a pair of doors.
