A 27-inch base cabinet is required. The sink itself is 25 x 22 inches with a 6-inch bowl depth, and the shallow 6-inch bowl is what lets it sit high enough for ADA knee clearance under the counter. If your run is built on 24-inch base cabinets, this one won't drop in.

Top mount. The Colony 22SB.6252283C drops into the countertop cutout with the rim resting on the deck, and the cutout template, mounting hardware and instructions come in the box. It is not set up for undermount installation, so it works on laminate and post-form tops as well as stone.

Both are in the box. The kit ships with the Colony Pro stainless steel single control faucet (7074000.075) and the 9028000.075 waste fitting, plus mounting hardware. For a full install you would still supply your own supply lines, P-trap and tailpiece to the wall or floor rough-in.

If the old sink was a standard 25 x 22-inch top mount in a 27-inch cabinet, the Colony drops into the same opening and the supplied template lets you confirm or enlarge the cutout. The change your plumber needs to plan for is drain height: at 6 inches deep instead of the usual 8 or 9, the tailpiece sits higher and the trap arm may need to be reworked.

The bowl measures 21-1/4 x 15-3/4 x 6 inches inside the 25 x 22-inch rim. That 6-inch depth is shallower than a standard kitchen bowl, which is deliberate for ADA clearance, but it does mean a large stock pot or a sheet pan will sit proud of the rim.

The Colony sink is formed from 20-gauge stainless steel, which is the common mid-weight for drop-in residential sinks and holds up fine in apartment and single-family turnover work. American Standard lists this family as residential, so for a commercial kitchen or a heavy institutional pot-wash station you want a heavier-gauge fabricated sink instead.

The deck is drilled for the single-control Colony Pro faucet that ships with it, so the faucet supplied matches the drilling exactly. If you are planning to add a separate side sprayer or a soap dispenser, plan on a deck-mounted accessory in the counter rather than the sink.

Two things address that here. SoundSecure rubber pads on the underside of the bowl damp the drumming you get from a thin stainless sink, and StoneLock multi-layer spray insulation adds sound absorption while cutting condensation on the underside. That matters if the sink sits over a cabinet with stored goods or next to a bedroom wall.

Stainless steel throughout, the sink bowl and the Colony Pro faucet, ordered as part number 22SB.6252283C.075. It is a single-finish package, so there is no chrome or black option to select.
