American Standard Commercial Heavy Duty Open Front Elongated Toilet Seat with EverClean Surface and Self-sustaining Hinges - AMS-5901100SS

It's built for conventional elongated commercial bowls, and the seat measures 22.25 long by 14.625 wide by 2.375 high. Those are the numbers to check against the bowl you're replacing on, since an elongated bowl typically runs about 18-1/2 inches from the bolt holes to the front rim. It will not work on a round front bowl.

Bottom mounting hardware ships with the seat, so nothing extra to order for a standard two-hole bowl. Bottom mount means the fasteners tighten from underneath the bowl deck, which is what you want in a high-traffic restroom because there's no exposed nut on top to work loose or collect grime.

Tested to a 500 lb static weight load. That, plus the polypropylene body and stainless steel hinges, is why it gets specified for stadiums, schools, transit stations and other openings that see heavy continuous use rather than a light-duty residential seat.

No. EverClean is an antimicrobial surface that inhibits growth of the bacteria, mold and mildew that cause stains and odors. American Standard states plainly that it does not protect against disease causing bacteria. Treat it as a maintenance and odor-control feature for your janitorial spec, not an infection-control one, which is the distinction a healthcare or school facility buyer needs before it goes in a submittal.

A self-sustaining hinge holds the seat wherever you leave it, so it stays up instead of slamming back down onto the rim. On the 5901100SS those hinges are stainless steel, which matters in a wet restroom where a plated steel hinge would rust and a plastic one would snap under abuse.

White only, ordered as manufacturer number 5901100SS.020. The .020 suffix is American Standard's white finish code, so if you're matching a fleet of fixtures across a building the seat color is fixed at white.
