Trim only. The TU662223 kit is built for American Standard Flash shower rough-in valves, which are sold separately and offered with a choice of connection types. If you want the two-way diverter function, you also need the R422 two-way rough diverter valve, which is a separate order. Without both rough-in bodies in the wall, there is nothing for this trim to mount to.

You get a fixed showerhead with shower arm and flange, a three-function hand shower with a pause button, a 36 inch slide bar to mount and height-adjust the hand shower, and the two-way diverter trim: a metal wall escutcheon with a metal lever handle and a red/blue temperature indicator ring. Rough-in valves are not part of it.

The hand shower carries a pause feature: a non-positive shut-off button on the handle that drops flow to a trickle, which is what meets the ADA requirement. Note it is non-positive, so it reduces flow rather than shutting it off completely. Paired with the 36 inch slide bar, the hand shower height can be set for a seated or standing user.

Maximum flow is 2.5 gpm / 9.5 Lpm, so it meets a 2.5 gpm ceiling. If your jurisdiction or project spec calls for a lower-flow head (many water-conservation specs now call 2.0 or 1.8 gpm), this kit as supplied does not hit that number.

It is a two-way diverter, operated by the metal lever handle on the wall escutcheon. Two-way means you select between the two outlets, the fixed showerhead or the hand shower, rather than feeding both together. The diverter function depends on the R422 two-way rough diverter valve being installed behind the wall.

It suits that job if the openings are already on American Standard Flash rough-in valves, since the trim is built specifically for that rough-in family. Trim, handle and escutcheon are metal, and the finish is chrome, which is the usual standardizing finish across a property. If your existing rough-ins are a different brand or a different American Standard valve family, this trim will not land on them.

Chrome, ordered as part number TU662223.002. That is the only finish this kit is built in, so if a project is specified in brushed nickel or matte black you will need a different trim family to match.

There is a red/blue indicator ring at the lever handle, which is the temperature cue on the escutcheon. That matters in commercial and institutional washrooms where the user is unfamiliar with the fixture.

American Standard lists the application as shower and tub. Keep in mind the kit itself supplies a fixed showerhead, hand shower and slide bar only; a tub spout is not part of it and the rough-in valve behind the wall has to be one that supports a tub outlet.
