Both pieces ship together. It's sold as a top and leg combination, vitreous china lavatory plus the matching china pedestal, and a mounting kit is supplied. What's not included is the faucet, the drain assembly, the P-trap and the supply stops, so order those with the sink.

The bowl measures 19-3/4 in wide, 12 in front to back and 6 in deep, so it's a full-size lavatory basin rather than a compact powder-room bowl. It also has a rear overflow, which keeps an unattended faucet from running over onto the floor, useful in hospitality and multi-family units.

The pedestal supports part of the load, but the lavatory still anchors to the wall using the supplied mounting kit, so you want solid backing behind the finished wall at the hanger line. Set the blocking before closing the wall; retrofitting it behind tile after the fact is the usual reason these installs stall.

A pedestal like the Evolution hides the trap and supplies inside a china leg and gives you a shelf-style faucet ledge, so it reads as finished without a vanity. A wall-hung lavatory leaves the floor clear under it, which is what you want when clearance under the bowl matters. The tradeoff with the pedestal is that plumbing has to be centered to disappear behind the 34-1/4 in leg; offset rough-ins will show.
