American Standard 012087-0070A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which American Standard faucets does the 012087-0070A swing spout seal kit fit?
The swing spout seal kit is for the American Standard Monterrey and Heritage bar sink faucet series. If your faucet is from another American Standard line, this is not the seal set for it.
2) Is this a repair part or a complete replacement spout for a Monterrey bar faucet?
It is a repair part only, the seals for the swing spout, not the spout itself. If your spout tube is cracked, pitted or the chrome is gone, new seals will not fix it. Seals are the right call when the spout drips or weeps at the base when you swing it.
3) How many seals come in the American Standard swing spout repair kit?
Two seals per kit. A swing spout uses a seal above and below the spout collar, so one kit rebuilds one spout. If you are servicing several faucets in a building, order a kit per spout.
4) Do I need any special tools or additional parts to install the American Standard swing spout seals?
No extra parts are packaged with it beyond the two seals. Replacing them is a shut-the-water-off, pull-the-spout, roll-the-old-seals-off job, so most techs need nothing more than a screwdriver or hex key for the spout retaining screw and some plumber's grease on reassembly.
