American Standard M962570-0070A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the American Standard M962570 handle adapter kit used for?
It's a faucet handle adapter kit for American Standard Moments widespread faucets. The adapter is the connecting piece between the handle and the valve stem, so it's the part you order when a Moments handle won't seat or turn properly on the stem.
2) Will the Moments handle adapter kit work on other American Standard faucet lines?
It's specified for the Moments widespread line only. Adapters are cut to a particular stem broach and handle bore, so a Moments part shouldn't be assumed to fit Colony, Cadet, or other American Standard series. Match the faucet series before ordering.
3) My Moments widespread faucet handle spins without turning the water on. Is the adapter the part I need?
That's the usual symptom of a stripped or split handle adapter. The adapter carries the drive between handle and valve stem, so when it wears out the handle turns freely while the valve stays put. Replacing it is cheaper than replacing the whole valve cartridge, and it's worth ruling out before you pull the valve. If the stem itself is stripped, the adapter alone won't fix it.
4) What is the manufacturer part number for the American Standard Moments handle adapter kit?
Order it as M962570-0070A from American Standard. That is the full factory part number a plumbing supplier or service desk will want when you call in a Moments widespread repair part.
5) Does the Moments handle adapter kit come in different finishes to match my faucet?
No finish choice applies. The adapter kit ships in a single non-finished version, because the adapter sits underneath the handle and isn't a visible trim piece. Your existing Moments handle keeps the finish you already have on the faucet.
6) For a hotel or multi-family property with Moments widespread faucets, is this a part worth stocking?
It's a sensible MRO stock item if your standard lavatory faucet is the American Standard Moments widespread. Handle adapters are a wear part on high-traffic guest and tenant sinks, and having M962570-0070A on the shelf turns a handle complaint into a short in-room repair rather than a faucet swap.
