American Standard M970254-0020A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What finishes does the American Standard M970254 handle kit come in?
Two finishes: polished chrome, ordered as M970254-0020A, and brushed nickel, ordered as M970254-2950A. Pick the one that matches the rest of the faucet trim, since the handle is the visible piece and a mismatch shows immediately on a lavatory or sink deck.
2) Is the American Standard M970254 a faucet handle or a shower/door handle?
It is a faucet handle kit. The application is faucet, so it is replacement trim for an American Standard faucet, not a shower valve trim kit and not door hardware.
3) I manage apartments and have broken faucet handles - can I just replace the handle instead of the whole faucet?
That is exactly what this kit is for. It is a handle replacement part for an American Standard faucet, so a cracked or stripped handle can be swapped without pulling the faucet body out of the deck. Order by the American Standard part number M970254 in the finish that matches your existing trim, and confirm the number against the faucet model you are servicing.
4) Which part number do I give my supplier for the brushed nickel version of the American Standard M970254 handle kit?
Brushed nickel is M970254-2950A. The chrome version is a different number, M970254-0020A, so quoting the base number M970254 alone will not pin the finish.
