American Standard M970467-2430A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is American Standard part M970467 used for?
M970467 is a toilet trip handle kit, sold as a replacement handle for an American Standard toilet tank. It is a parts-and-accessories item, so you are buying the handle assembly itself rather than a complete tank or flush valve.
2) Will the M970467 handle kit fit a non-American Standard toilet?
Treat it as an American Standard replacement part. It is sold as the factory handle kit for American Standard toilets, and handle fit depends on the tank hole location, the shank thread, and the lever arm length matching the flush valve in your tank. If your toilet is another brand, match the handle to that brand's tank rather than substituting this kit.
3) I manage several buildings and need one toilet handle finish across all of them. Can I standardize on this one?
Yes, for American Standard toilets that take the M970467 handle kit. All five finishes are the same kit under one base number, so you can stock a single finish across a portfolio and reorder by suffix, for example M970467-0020A for chrome in back-of-house restrooms and M970467-2430A for matte black where the trim package calls for it.
4) Does the M970467 kit include the lever arm, or just the outside handle?
It ships as a handle kit, meaning the trip lever assembly rather than a bare decorative lever. The flapper, chain, and flush valve are separate items, so if the toilet is running or not flushing fully, replace those alongside the handle.
