American Standard Interchange Cartridge 35Mm - AMS-M951472

It's the replacement valve cartridge inside an American Standard faucet, in the 35mm size. When a single-handle faucet drips, won't shut off cleanly, or gets stiff to turn, the cartridge is the wear part you swap rather than replacing the whole faucet body. The 35mm figure is the cartridge diameter, which is what has to match your valve body.

Order it as M951472-0070A. That's the number to give a supply house or match against an existing parts list. It is sold as a bare functional part, with no decorative finish, since the cartridge sits inside the faucet body where it isn't seen.

If your buildings are standardized on American Standard single-handle faucets that take the 35mm cartridge, yes. Cartridges are the single most common faucet failure a maintenance tech sees, and a shelf stock of M951472-0070A turns a drip call into a ten-minute swap instead of a faucet replacement. Confirm the diameter on one unit first, then buy the quantity that covers your fixture count.

What ships is the cartridge itself, part M951472-0070A, in the 35mm size. Plan on reusing your existing handle and trim, and have a pair of channel locks or a cartridge puller on hand if the old one is seized with scale. On hard-water jobs, budget a little extra time for that removal.

Nothing is missing from the order. The 35mm interchange cartridge is an internal valve component, so there's no plated or painted option to pick. Chrome, brushed nickel, and similar choices apply to trim like handles and escutcheons, not to the cartridge itself. Buy it once and it works behind any trim finish.
