M964097 covers the rod and knob above the deck, not the pop-up drain assembly below the sink.

Chrome only, ordered as M964097-0020A. If the Emory faucet on the sink is a brushed nickel or other finish, the chrome rod will not match the spout and knob.
5) Does the M964097 kit include the clevis strap or pivot rod?
No. What you get is the lift rod and the knob on top of it. The clevis strap, pivot rod, spring clip and drain body are separate parts, so reuse the existing linkage or order those pieces on their own.
6) Can a maintenance tech swap the Emory lift rod without pulling the faucet?
In most cases yes. The rod drops through the hole at the back of the faucet body and connects to the clevis strap under the sink. Loosen the clevis screw, back the old rod out from above, thread the new one in and reset the clevis so the stopper fully seats and fully lifts. The faucet itself stays in place.
