American Standard 4332400.002 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Pekoe bar faucet cover a 3-hole sink deck, or do I need a base plate?
It's a single-handle faucet, so on its own it mounts in one hole. To cover a 3-hole prep or bar sink deck, order the optional metal base plate M961850-YYY0A, which includes a putty plate. The base plate is a separate item, not packed with the faucet.
2) Is the Pekoe bar faucet ADA compliant for a commercial break room or care facility?
The metal lever handle is ADA approved, which is the piece that matters for operation without tight grasping, pinching or twisting of the wrist. That makes it usable at ADA-compliant prep and bar sinks in offices, healthcare and hospitality spaces.
3) What finishes does the American Standard Pekoe bar faucet come in, and what are the model numbers?
Two finishes: polished chrome, model 4332400.002, and stainless steel, model 4332400.075. Both are the same single-handle Pekoe bar faucet body; the finish is described as a lifetime finish that won't tarnish or scratch, which matters on a prep sink that gets wiped down constantly.
4) What is the flow rate on the Pekoe bar faucet?
2.2 gpm (8.3 L/min). That's the standard full-flow kitchen rate, so if your jurisdiction or a green building spec caps bar and prep faucets at 1.8 or 1.5 gpm, this one is above that threshold and you'd want a lower-flow model or an aerator change.
5) Is this faucet durable enough for a multi-family or hospitality property where handles get abused?
The body is brass and the handle is metal, not plastic, and the cartridge is a ceramic disc valve, which is the wear part that decides whether a faucet starts dripping. Ceramic disc handles high cycle counts far better than rubber washer or ball valves, which is why it's the sensible pick for turnover units and shared break rooms.
6) Can I match this bar faucet to the main kitchen faucet on the same island?
Yes. Pekoe is a coordinating family, with pull-out, pull-down, semi-professional and standard kitchen faucets in the same styling. Spec the main faucet in the same finish, chrome or stainless steel, and the prep sink reads as part of the same set.
