American Standard 907468-0020A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the American Standard Reliant Plus escutcheon cap AMS-907468 used for?
It's a faucet repair part, the decorative cap that covers the escutcheon on a Reliant Plus faucet. It is a cosmetic/trim cover, not a valve or cartridge, so it won't fix a drip or a flow problem. Order it when the existing cap is cracked, pitted, or missing.
2) What finish does the 907468 Reliant Plus escutcheon cap come in?
Chrome only. The orderable part number is 907468-0020A. If the other trim on the faucet is brushed nickel or another finish, this cap will not match it.
3) Does the AMS-907468 escutcheon cap come with a new escutcheon or mounting hardware?
No. 907468-0020A is the cap on its own. If the escutcheon body underneath, the gasket, or the mounting nuts are also damaged, those are separate repair parts and need to be ordered alongside it.
4) Is this American Standard escutcheon cap suitable for commercial or multi-family properties?
It's catalogued as a plumbing repair part with no residential-only restriction, so property managers and MRO buyers use it the same way a homeowner would: as a like-for-like cosmetic replacement on a Reliant Plus faucet. For a fleet of units, standardize on the chrome 907468-0020A so every replacement matches.
5) How much does the 907468 escutcheon cap weigh, and do I need tools to install it?
The cap weighs 0.044 pounds, which tells you what it is: a thin snap-on trim piece, not a structural part. Most swaps are hand work, popping the old cap off and seating the new one. No pipe work or supply shutoff is involved in changing the cap itself.
