American Standard 1660771.002 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What comes in the American Standard Spectra hand shower kit 1660771?
Three pieces ship together: the Spectra+ hand shower itself, a 59 inch shower hose, and a shower arm bracket to hang it on. That covers a straight swap onto an existing shower arm, so no separate hose or holder purchase is needed.
2) Will this hand shower mount on the shower arm I already have?
The included bracket attaches to all standard shower arms, so it hangs off the existing arm without replacing the arm or opening the wall. That makes it a fixture-only swap for a property manager updating units.
3) Is the Spectra 1660771 a low flow shower head?
It runs 1.8 gpm (6.8 L/min), below the 2.5 gpm federal maximum, which is what facilities standardizing on water-saving fixtures are usually after.
4) What are the four spray settings on the Spectra handheld?
Drench for a soaking full body spray, Sensitive for a fine gentle spray, PowerWash for a wide high pressure spray that is useful for rinsing down the enclosure itself, and Massage for a pulsating spray. Sprays change with the AquaToggle control on the handle.
5) Is this handheld a good choice for multi-family units where tenants clean the shower?
The PowerWash setting is a wide, forceful spray intended for rinsing the enclosure, and the handle is a lightweight ergonomic shape meant to stay in a wet, soapy grip. Combined with the tool-free swap onto a standard shower arm, it turns over quickly between tenants.
