Existing tube is fine. Because the ring splits, you can fit it around a 1-1/2 inch tailpiece already in service without cutting the tube or pulling the flush valve. What decides the job is the wall-to-centerline distance: this one covers up to 2-1/2 to 3 inches (64 to 76 mm), so measure that gap on the fixture in place first.

It anchors the flush valve tailpiece back to the wall so the tube is not carrying movement from the valve or from someone leaning on it. In high-traffic restrooms, that unsupported vertical run between the flush valve and the bowl spud is what works loose and starts weeping at the joints. The split ring opens, wraps the 1-1/2 inch tube, and closes around it, so it goes on without breaking the connection at either end.

It will standardize on any of them running a 1-1/2 inch (38 mm) tailpiece with the pipe centerline no more than 2-1/2 to 3 inches (64 to 76 mm) off the wall, which covers typical exposed commercial water closet installations. Where a bowl sits further out from the wall, or where the tube is a different diameter, that opening needs a different support. Walk one representative stall on each fixture type and take those two measurements before you buy in quantity.

Chrome is the only finish offered on the 6065822, part number 6065822.002. It is meant to sit alongside chrome flush valve tubing and exposed commercial trim, so on a standard chrome flushometer installation it matches what is already on the wall.
