American Standard 6515001.02 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What flush valve do I need for the American Standard Washbrook back spud urinal?
The Washbrook takes a 3/4 inch (19 mm) top inlet spud, so you need a 3/4 inch urinal flush valve. It's a High Efficiency Urinal that works anywhere from 0.125 gpf up to 1.0 gpf (0.47 to 3.8 Lpf), so a pint valve, a 0.5 gpf valve, or a full 1.0 gpf valve will all flush it correctly. The fixture ships as fixture only, so the valve is a separate purchase.
2) Is the Washbrook urinal a back spud or bottom spud outlet?
It's a back spud urinal, meaning the waste outlet goes straight back into the wall rather than down through the floor. The outlet is a 2 inch (51 mm) threaded connection. If your rough-in drops to the floor, this is the wrong fixture, you'd need a bottom outlet urinal instead.
3) Does the Washbrook urinal come with mounting hardware and a strainer?
Two wall hangers are included, along with a chrome plated non-metallic strainer. What is not in the box: the flush valve, the spud coupling, and the outlet gasket and hardware. Order those separately with the fixture.
4) How far does the Washbrook urinal stick out from the wall?
The elongated rim projects 14 inches (356 mm) from the finished wall. Use that number when you're laying out stall partitions or checking clearance in a tight washroom run.
5) Can I use the Washbrook urinal with a 0.125 gpf pint flush valve for a water conservation retrofit?
Yes. The bowl is rated as a High Efficiency Urinal down to 0.125 gpf (0.47 Lpf), so a pint valve is within its designed range. That's the lowest flush volume it's rated for, and it will also run at anything up to 1.0 gpf if your building's water pressure or drain line carry makes a higher volume the better choice.
6) Can the Washbrook back spud urinal replace an existing wall hung urinal on the same rough-in?
It will swap in where the existing fixture is also back outlet with a 2 inch threaded waste and a 3/4 inch top spud, which is the common commercial wall hung arrangement. Check two things at the wall: that the carrier or hanger points can take the two included wall hangers, and that the old flush valve's spud size matches 3/4 inch. If the old unit was bottom outlet, the waste stub is in the wrong place and this won't work.
7) Will a washdown urinal like the Washbrook hold up in a high traffic restroom?
It uses a flushing rim with washdown action, which is the standard arrangement for school, stadium, and commercial washroom duty. The extended sides give some privacy where fixtures are set close together on a wall run. For a facility standardizing across multiple restrooms, the single white finish keeps replacements consistent.
8) What color does the American Standard Washbrook 6515001 urinal come in?
White only, ordered as model 6515001.02. There is no other finish on this fixture.
