Blanco 238483 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Blanco 238483 grid be used as a trivet for hot pots?
Yes. The grid is built from stainless steel rods and Blanco lists trivet use for heat protection on countertops as one of its intended functions, alongside drying dishes, rinsing produce, and resting pots while filling them over the sink.
2) Will the Blanco foldable drying mat slide around on a stainless sink ledge?
The rods are finished with heavy-duty silicone that gives the mat a slip-proof grip, so it stays put on a sink ledge or countertop rather than skating when you load dishes onto it.
3) Is the Blanco 238483 drying mat a fixed sink grid or does it come out?
It is a loose, roll-up accessory, not a bottom grid that sits permanently in the bowl. It lays across the sink for drying, rinsing, or filling pots without bending over, then rolls up and stores at the sink edge, in a cabinet, or in a drawer. If you want a protective grid that sits on the sink floor under the dishes, that is a different Blanco accessory.
4) What material and finish is the Blanco 238483 mat, and will it match a stainless sink?
Stainless steel rods with silicone contact points, offered in a stainless steel finish only. That is the single configuration, so a property manager standardizing across units gets the same item every time.
5) Do I need to order anything else to install the Blanco 238483 drying mat?
Nothing. There is no mounting hardware, no cutting, and no plumbing work involved. The mat is a drop-on sink accessory that rests across the bowl, so it goes in the same day it arrives and comes out just as fast for cleaning.
