Blanco 240328 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Blanco 240328 disposal flange fit a standard 3-1/2 inch sink drain opening?
Yes. The Blanco 240328 waste flange is made for standard 3.5 inch drain openings, which is the opening cut into Blanco SILGRANIT sinks and most other kitchen sinks. If your sink has a smaller strainer-style opening rather than a disposal opening, this is not the part you want.
2) Does the Blanco 240328 flange work with an InSinkErator garbage disposal?
It is built to work with most InSinkErator garbage disposals. It is a disposal flange, not a basket strainer, so it mounts into the sink opening and mates up to the disposal mounting assembly below.
3) I have a white SILGRANIT sink. Will this flange match it?
The 240328 is the white finish in Blanco's color-coordinated disposal flange range, made to match the SILGRANIT sink colors so the drain reads as part of the sink instead of a chrome ring in the middle of it. For a property manager standardizing several kitchens, ordering the flange in the same color as the sink is what keeps the openings looking identical.
4) Does a disposal flange let water drain through, or does it seal the sink off?
Both, depending on how you set it. The Blanco waste flange seals tight to stop food and debris going down and clogging the pipes, and it can also be set to let water drain through, which is what you want when you are rinsing and prepping. That is the difference between this and a plain fixed disposal ring.
5) Is the Blanco 240328 a replacement flange only, or does it include the garbage disposal mounting hardware?
It is the flange itself, the visible drain ring that finishes the sink opening and seals the waste. The disposal and its mounting assembly are separate. If you are replacing a stained or scratched drain ring on an existing SILGRANIT sink, this is the part; if you are installing a new disposal, order the disposal along with it.
6) Can I use the Blanco 240328 on a non-Blanco sink?
If the sink has a standard 3.5 inch disposal opening, the flange fits it. The color matching is specific to Blanco SILGRANIT colors, so on a stainless or a different brand's composite sink you get a working flange in white rather than a matched one.
7) What is the Blanco 240328 flange actually made of?
It is a metal disposal flange with a color-coordinated white finish, not a plastic ring. Blanco describes these as strong, durable and easy to maintain, which matters in a rental or commercial kitchen where the drain gets hit constantly.
