1) Does the Blanco Formera sink come with a strainer and mounting clips?
No. The basket strainer and the installation clips are sold separately on the Formera undermount sink, so budget for both plus a drain tailpiece when you order. Optional add-ons include a bottom grid (item #237140), a foldable drying mat (item #238483) and a decorative drain cover (item #517666).
2) Is the Formera sink drain centered or offset?
The drain sits toward the rear of the bowl on the Formera. That keeps the P-trap and tailpiece high and to the back of the cabinet, which frees up usable shelf space underneath for a disposal, filter canister or storage. Plan your rough-in waste accordingly rather than centering it under the bowl.
3) Can a single bowl undermount sink like the Formera handle large pots, or should I go with a double bowl?
A single bowl is the right call when you regularly wash sheet pans, stock pots and oven racks, because there is no divider in the way. The Formera's single bowl configuration is aimed at exactly that. A double bowl makes more sense if you want to separate soaking from rinsing, or if you run two tasks at once. 4) Will the Formera work with a solid surface or laminate countertop?
It is an undermount sink, which means the bowl mounts beneath the deck and the counter needs a finished, sealed cutout edge. Stone, quartz and solid surface are the normal substrates. Standard laminate is not, because the exposed particleboard edge at the cutout will swell. Confirm your fabricator is cutting and polishing the opening for an undermount before ordering.
5) Is the Formera undermount sink noisy when the water runs?
Sound dampening pads come pre-installed on the underside of the bowl, so you are not adding spray-on undercoating or pads yourself at install. That cuts the drumming you get from water hitting bare stainless, which matters in open-plan kitchens and in rental units where tenants notice it.
