Grid Drain with 1-1/2 Inch Opening and 4 Inch Tailpiece, Polished Chrome - THP5067#CP

The THP5067#CP is the overflow version. It's a grid drain with an overflow port, so it belongs in a lavatory basin that has an overflow channel cast into it. If your basin has no overflow, you need a non-overflow grid drain instead, or the water will not vent correctly.

A grid drain has a fixed, non-closing strainer face, so the basin never holds water. It's what you want on a vessel or basin used for handwashing only, and it's common in commercial restrooms and multi-family builds because there's no lift rod, no pivot ball, and nothing to seize up or get vandalized. If tenants or guests need to fill the basin, specify a pop-up with a lift rod instead. The THP5067 is a grid, not a stopper.

Four inches of tailpiece is short by design, which suits a shallow vanity or a wall-hung basin where the trap sits close under the bowl. On a deeper cabinet or where the trap arm drops lower, you'll want to add a 1-1/2 inch slip-joint tailpiece extension to reach the trap. Cutting the supplied tailpiece shorter is fine; lengthening it takes an extension.

Polished Chrome only, ordered as THP5067#CP. TOTO uses the #CP suffix across its faucet and trim line for polished chrome, so it matches a polished chrome TOTO faucet on the same basin. If you're standardizing a run of restrooms in brushed nickel or matte black, this is not the part number to spec.

It's a separate item. TOTO lavatory faucets are commonly shipped without a drain assembly, so on a new install you order the faucet and the THP5067#CP drain as two line items. Budget for the trap, slip-joint nuts and washers, and plumber's putty or a silicone bead for the flange seat as well, since those don't come with the drain.

No power at all. The THP5067 is a mechanical grid drain with no battery and no electrical connection, so it works with both manual and sensor faucets without adding anything to the power or battery maintenance schedule on the fixture.
