The Level Lock Touch Edition smart deadbolt is built for American standard deadbolt prep on doors 1-3/4 inch to 2 inch thick, with a 2-1/8 inch cross bore and either a 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backset. If your door is thinner than 1-3/4 inch, which many older interior doors are at 1-3/8 inch, this is the wrong lock and you want a conventional deadbolt with a 1-3/8 inch capable range, such as the Dexter DB2000 single cylinder.
2) Can the Level Lock Touch drop into my existing deadbolt hole without redrilling?
In most cases yes. The Level Lock Touch Edition uses standard American deadbolt prep: 2-1/8 inch cross bore and a backset of either 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch, which are the two backsets used on residential and light commercial doors. It also ships with a 2-3/4 by 1-1/8 inch strike plate, so the frame side matches typical existing deadbolt strike prep. Measure from the door edge to the center of the bore to confirm which backset you have before ordering.
3) What keyway does the Level Lock Touch use, and can I key it into my existing master key system?
The Level Lock Touch Edition ships with a Schlage C keyway cylinder and two keys. If your building is already keyed on Schlage C, a locksmith can rekey these cylinders into that system the same way as any other SC1 cylinder. Buildings running a different keyway will need the cylinders rekeyed or the openings standardized.
4) Does the Level Lock Touch still open with a key if the battery dies?
