The TOTO® Gooseneck Vessel ECOPOWER® or AC 0.5 GPM Touchless Bathroom Faucet Spout, 20 Second Continuous Flow is ideal for high-traffic spaces, providing an elegant water conservation solution. The sensor is strategically positioned underneath the spout head to accurately sense the hands for touchless use. The 0.5 GPM 20 second continuous flow faucet uses only 0.17 gallons per cycle and is CEC and CALGreen compliant. TOTO TLE24001U2#CP – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the TOTO Gooseneck touchless faucet spout come with everything needed to run it, or do I have to order a controller too?
The Gooseneck spout is the spout body only. You order the compatible TOTO ECOPOWER self-generating or 120V AC controller separately, plus the water supply line for the G 1/2 inch connection. A mixing valve is also separate and needed if the water coming to the fixture is not already premixed. No drain and no valve are included. Budget for those lines on the job or the fixture will not run.
2) Will the TOTO Gooseneck sensor faucet mount in my existing single-hole vanity deck?
It is a deck-mount, single-hole fixture, so one hole in the counter or lavatory is all it needs. Maximum deck thickness is 2 inches, which covers most stone and solid-surface tops. If your deck is thicker than that, or the lav is drilled 4 inch centerset or 8 inch widespread, this spout will not mount without a new top or an escutcheon plate.
3) What is the difference between the vessel and non-vessel versions of the TOTO Gooseneck touchless spout?
Height is the difference. The vessel models (TLE24003U2#CP and TLE24008U3#CP, TLE24008U1#CP) stand 13.5625 inches overall with a 9.0625 inch spout height and 6.5 inch reach, so the water clears the rim of a vessel bowl sitting on top of the counter. The standard models (TLE24001U2#CP, TLE24006U1#CP, TLE24006U3#CP) are 9.625 inches overall, 5.4375 inch spout height, 5.75 inch reach, sized for a drop-in or undermount lav. Pick by whether the basin sits on the deck or in it.
4) What is the difference between the 10 second on-demand, 20 second on-demand, and 20 second continuous TOTO Gooseneck spouts?
It is how the sensor meters each activation. The 20 second continuous version (TLE24006U3#CP and vessel TLE24008U3#CP) runs a full 20 second timed cycle at 0.5 GPM, about 0.17 gallons per use, and shuts itself off, so it cannot be left running. The 10 second on-demand versions (TLE24006U1#CP, TLE24008U1#CP) are also 0.5 GPM but meter a shorter burst. The 0.35 GPM on-demand models (TLE24001U2#CP, TLE24003U2#CP) trade flow rate down further for the lowest water use per activation. High-traffic restrooms usually go with a timed cycle; the lower GPM option is the one to pick when you are chasing a water-use target.
5) Is the TOTO Gooseneck touchless faucet ADA compliant for a commercial restroom?
Yes, the Gooseneck sensor spout is ADA compliant. Being touchless, it needs no grasping, pinching, or wrist twisting to operate. It is also CEC and CALGreen compliant, which is what gets it through plan check on California commercial work.
6) Do I need a mixing valve with the TOTO Gooseneck sensor faucet?
Only if the water arriving at the fixture is not already premixed. The spout takes a single supply at the G 1/2 inch connection, so if the building feeds it from a central tempering or recirculating tempered loop, you are set. Feeding it straight hot and cold means you need a mixing valve at the fixture, and that valve is a separate purchase.
7) Should I go with the ECOPOWER hydro-powered controller or the 120V AC one for a TOTO Gooseneck spout?
The same spout works with either, so it is a power decision made at the controller. ECOPOWER self-generates from the water flowing through it, which means no electrical rough-in and no battery program for the maintenance crew, and it suits retrofits into existing restrooms where there is no power under the lav. The 120V AC system needs a transformer and power run to the fixture and is the choice when the restroom is being built out anyway or the fixture sees low use. Either way, the controller is ordered separately.
8) Where is the sensor on the TOTO Gooseneck faucet, and will it false-trigger in a busy restroom?
The sensor sits at the tip of the spout, underneath the spout head, aimed down at the basin rather than out across the room. That placement reads hands directly under the outlet and keeps foot traffic passing the vanity from setting it off. It also gives an instant response as the user puts their hands in.
9) Can I standardize a whole floor of restrooms on the TOTO Gooseneck spout if some lavs are vessel and some are drop-in?
Yes. The Gooseneck family keeps the same polished chrome finish, the same single-hole deck mount, and the same G 1/2 inch supply connection across all six models, so the rough-in and the look stay consistent. Use the tall vessel version where the bowl sits on the counter and the shorter version at the drop-in lavs, and pair them all with the same style of ECOPOWER or AC controller so the parts shelf stays short.
10) Will the TOTO Gooseneck spout splash out of a shallow vessel bowl?
TOTO uses SOFT FLOW technology on this spout, which aerates the stream for a soft feel with little to no splashing, and the 0.5 GPM or 0.35 GPM flow rates are low to begin with. On the vessel version, reach is 6.5 inches with a 9.0625 inch spout height, so the stream lands well into the bowl rather than near the rim. Center the bowl under that reach and splash-out is minimal.
11) Is the TOTO Gooseneck touchless spout durable enough for a high-traffic public restroom?
The spout body is brass with a chrome plating, which is the standard for commercial lavatory service and holds up to cleaning chemicals and constant use better than plated zinc. All six models come in polished chrome. Touchless operation also removes the handle that normally wears out or gets broken off in public washrooms.
