TOTO TBW08008U#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the TOTO Gyrostream body spray come with a valve, or do I need to order one separately?
No valve is included with the Gyrostream square body spray. You get the bodyspray assembly, the faceplate, and the adapter only, so the rough-in valve and any volume control or diverter have to be specified separately as part of the shower system.
2) What size supply connection does the Gyrostream body spray need for rough-in?
It lands on a standard 1/2 inch NPT connection, so it threads onto the same 1/2 inch drop ear or stub-out a plumber would already be running for a shower head or body spray outlet. An adapter ships with the unit.
3) How many body sprays can I run off one valve at 1.6 gpm each?
Each Gyrostream is rated at a maximum 1.6 gpm, so a bank of four is drawing up to 6.4 gpm at once. Size the mixing valve and supply lines for the total of every outlet that can run simultaneously, or plan on a diverter so only one group flows at a time.
4) How much wall space does a TOTO Gyrostream square body spray cover?
The escutcheon is a 4 inch square, and the unit measures 4 x 4 x 3.27 inches overall at about 2 pounds. That 4 inch face gives you a little coverage around the pipe penetration when you are laying out multiple sprays in a tile field.
5) Does the TOTO Gyrostream body spray meet California water efficiency requirements?
Yes. The Gyrostream is listed as CALGreen compliant and CEC compliant, which is what a California spec or a multi-family project in that market will be asking for on the fixture schedule.
6) Is the spray adjustable, or is it one fixed pattern?
One setting. The Gyrostream delivers a single spiral body spray pattern with no multi-function selector, so if a guest suite or spec calls for adjustable spray, this is not the right outlet.
7) What finishes does the TOTO Gyrostream square body spray come in for matching the rest of the shower trim?
Two finishes: polished chrome (TBW08008U#CP) and brushed nickel (TBW08008U#BN). Order all sprays in a shower with the same suffix so the faceplates match the valve trim and shower head.
8) Is the Gyrostream body spray solid brass, and will it hold up in a hard water or commercial setting?
The body is solid brass with corrosion-resistant chrome plating underneath the finish, which is the construction you want behind tile where replacement means opening a wall.
