TOTO TSFG1 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can TOTO TSFG1 soap be used in a standard liquid soap dispenser, or does it need a foaming unit?
TSFG1 is a foam soap concentrate meant to run through a foaming soap dispenser. The dispenser's pump is what aerates it into lather, so putting it in a straight liquid dispenser will not produce the foam and wastes product. TOTO's own guidance is to use TOTO soap in TOTO soap dispensers.
2) Is the TOTO foam soap actually antibacterial, and what is the active ingredient?
Yes. The active ingredient is Benzalkonium Chloride at 0.13 percent, and TOTO states it reduces up to 99.999 percent of bacteria during use. There is no Triclosan in the formula.
3) How much soap comes in the TOTO TSFG1 pack?
Four one gallon bottles per pack, so four gallons total. For a facility running several restrooms, that is the bulk refill format rather than a single cartridge, and it lets you top off multiple dispensers from one case.
4) Is this soap gentle enough for high-traffic restrooms where people wash their hands all day?
It is a lotion soap built on a mild formula that TOTO describes as suitable for daily use, with glycerin in the inactive ingredients. That is the reason it gets specified for offices, schools and healthcare washrooms where staff and students wash repeatedly through a shift.
5) Does TOTO TSFG1 soap meet FDA requirements for a hand soap in a public facility?
The formula is FDA compliant per TOTO, and it is Triclosan-free, which matters for institutional buyers standardizing hand soap across a building after Triclosan was pulled from consumer antiseptic washes.
6) What color and scent is the TOTO foam soap, and will it stain a sink deck?
The soap is green, tinted with Green 5 and Yellow 5, and it is fragranced. Those are cosmetic-grade colorants at trace levels in a hand soap, not a dye concentrate. Wipe spills on a lighter countertop as you would any tinted soap.
7) Does buying TOTO foam soap in gallons save water compared with a regular liquid soap?
Foam soap dispenses already lathered, so users spend less time working up a lather under a running tap. TOTO cites reduction of water use as a reason to run foam rather than liquid, which is the same logic behind their low-flow lavatory fittings.
8) Do I need batteries or any other parts with the TSFG1 soap refill?
No batteries come with it and none are needed, since this is the soap itself, not a dispenser. If you are running a TOTO touchless dispenser, batteries or power for that unit are handled separately at the dispenser.
